Week of September 24, 2012
First of two parts featuring an interview with Rosie McGee, who first met the Grateful Dead in late 1965, joined the tribe at the Muir Beach Acid Test, lived with Phil Lesh for more than four years, and worked in various Dead-related enterprises for many years. Along the way, she took a lot of photos, nearly 200 of which appear – along with a warmly-told memoir of her participation in those heady times – in her new electronic book, Dancing with the Dead: A Photographic Memoir.
Support for the Grateful Dead Hour comes this week from Grateful Dead Game – The Epic Tour, an online game that creates new ways to experience the legacy, music and art of the Grateful Dead. Fans are encouraged to create their own customized Dancing Bear, and take their Bear on a virtual trip through Grateful Dead time and space.
