“Dig as deep as you can to get through the next 60 days.”

-Excerpt from Barack Obama to staff members

Music for Democracy would like to invite you to an exclusive pre-concert reception.

Oakland Rocks For Change is on Tuesday night, September 16th at the Malonga Casquelourd Center (formerly Alice Arts Center) at 7pm. Our performers include Hot Buttered Rum w/ Michael Kang of String Cheese Incident, Maria Muldaur, Tuck & Patti, Tommy Castro, Blame Sally, David Gans and comedian Marga Gomez as MC.

OAKLAND ROCKS FOR CHANGE is more than just a star-studded concert and a great way to spend an evening – it could actually influence the outcome of the election! Proceeds from this event will support upcoming GET OUT THE VOTE efforts in key battleground states taking place in these final days of the campaign. In this extremely close election, involving new Democrats through unique and innovative methods such as music concerts will make all the difference.

Our VIP COCKTAIL RECEPTION is from 5:30pm – 6:30pm preceding our main event. This will be an exclusive event to find out more about Music For Democracy and our work across the country and a great opportunity to meet the performers.

VIP tickets are $1000 and include tickets for (2) for the cocktail reception with the performers, and front row seats for the concert.

AUCTION:

We are thrilled to be auctioning off several items of note:

* A Guitar Signed by Beatles’ Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and Sir George Martin
* A One-of-a-kind framed original photograph of Senator Obama coming directly by way of his personal photographer, David Katz
* Artwork donated by some of the East Bay’s best
* A Guitar Signed by all the nights’ performers

This is not an event to miss. The evening will not only be enjoyable, but all proceeds will go directly to Get Out the Youth Vote in key swing states like Ohio, Michigan, Nevada, and New Mexico.

To attend our VIP Cocktail Reception please email margaret@musicfordemocracy.org or call Margaret at: (415) 706-3177

We’re excited to see you there!
